Everyone has read about the “skilled worker shortage” – especially in the manufacturing sector. This is nothing new, just exacerbated by the disruption of the recent economic events. Waiting for schools and community colleges to train the skilled workers needed is not really a strategy. Even the most advanced technical colleges have never been able, nor should they since they have a broader target market, to train workers for a specific employer.
